In Business

I started working when I was 15; worked for Chinese, Canadian & American companies; handled business in four languages and started five companies.

My random claim to fame is being the first foreigner to ever work for a Chinese mining equipment company. I built a multi-million dollar sales network from Quebec to Chile. I did that at 26, three years after going to China with 2 suitcases, $100 in my pocket and a $500/month part-time teaching gig.

In Life

I have lived in four countries on three continents, traveled around the world, learned a few languages and returned to my roots in Greenville SC. Chicago, Toronto, Shanghai, Paris it is not; but it is home for my and my young son!

In Theory

I'm a serial entrepreneur, born communicator, political libertarian, Austrian economist and a follower of Jesus Christ. In other words, I believe a better world happens when individuals create ideas that benefit others and respect their God-given rights and talents; then spread the ideas through the simplest communication means possible.

Been there, done that. Too many ideas are commercial failures not because they weren't good ideas, but because they weren't translated into an effective business model. Far too often, this is because we operate under the perception an entrepreneur should be the end-all and be-all of the business when the truth is most entrepreneurs fail because they stretch themselves too thin.

Brand Identity

Why is Vincent Van Gogh's Water Lilies worth so much more than a student's copy? Because copy artists are a dime-a-dozen but original creation requires vision. As with Van Gogh's lilies, object, style and timing are critical to success, not that any is better than the other, but to integrate them all together at that time was visionary.

It's the same for logos and brands. Take a look around and you'll be hard pressed to find a commercially-successful company with a bad logo. These corporations don't rely on logos and brands for success, but they are an integral part of a strong company. I design original logos and brands with personality, wit and character that speak to the consumer and motivate them to action.

Communications

Business is a language spoken across series of relationships across the corporate, government and private sectors. The language's base principles are price, product and people which must be properly communicated if consumers are to understand the true value of a business or product. However, communication is a two-way street and good communication must be both simple and complete to understand and spread.

Yes, the goal is create viral communication but in reality, all communication is viral; it's only when we communicate poorly does the "virus" die. There's nothing mysterious about viral communication and every business can do it. It requires concentrated, coordinated communication planning. I have learned English, Chinese, French, Spanish & Romanian and picked up some universal communication techniques along the way. Let me help you!
